Varsity Towers Apartments are primarily rented to students studying at Universities in surrounding areas. SafeAir were selected to carry out duct cleaning and perform a full deep-clean of the buildings ventilation duct system throughout 305 apartments as well as associated roof ducts and roof exhaust fans.

With heavy traffic from student lodgers, apartment bathroom areas were faced with increased heat and air-moisture build-up. The removal of debris and matter from air registers and from within the system allowed a greater number of air-changes per hour.

Technicians removed years of accumulated build-up throughout the buildings ventilation duct system and removed any potential fire and health associated risks. Common areas and toilet exhaust systems were also deep cleaned as part of the duct cleaning service.

Varsity Towers reported a notable improvement in airflow throughout bathroom and toilet areas to the satisfaction of building managers and maintenance facilities staff. SafeAir technicians worked harmoniously with building management throughout the deep-clean and fulfilled all access and entry requirements on a daily basis.

Moisture build-up within bathroom and en suite areas in conjunction with blocked air vents, air registers and dampers can create the ideal breeding ground for mould, fungus, microbes and bacteria. Not only is this build-up a fire risk, the accumulation of this matter has been known to aggravate respiratory allergies and asthma in the elderly, children and infants. While not all mould is hazardous it is always best to eradicate it at the source by deep cleaning duct systems to prevent moisture build-up re-occurring in the future.
